We need to work together as a community to get these children back into church and scouting. I plan on meeting with local clergy and other leaders to see if we can implement a new program to get children into an organization such as the Boy and Girl Scots of America.

We could support these programs with a combination of tax funds, donations from local churches, and local business. If we as a community fail to invest in our children’s future NOW! It’s only going to get worse. We have empty buildings all over our county and we also ask retires who have skills that can be used to redirect these children onto a new path through counseling and career building so the kids can find a real job instead of running with a gang for the facts of life.

Those retired volunteers could receive property tax brakes as an incentive to share their skills and knowledge to those in need. This would be a large project for anyone person to do we would have to create a whole new organization to make it work and I would be honored to work with anyone who wants to try.

Police And Firefighters: The first responders who live and work in our county are the unsung heroes of our community. I know a few of them and affordable housing in a good neighborhood is at the top of most of their list. We need some new incentives to help them find and afford proper housing. Also improved equipment for field use is also needed such as the best equipment available. These men and women who respond to our needs in times of crises deserve our heart felt thanks and admiration and as your County Commissioner I will work hard for their rights and give them my full support.
